Job summary

Brightside Academy in Pittsburgh seeks an experienced Center Director to lead a high-quality early learning center where children, families, and teachers thrive. Join a network of 30+ centers across PA with a supportive team and a nationally recognized curriculum.

You’ll oversee daily operations, ensure licensing compliance, build a strong center team, manage staffing and budgets, support teaching and student outcomes, and foster positive family engagement.

Qualifications

• PA Director Credential required or clearly equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education; or related field with ECE credits.
• Leadership experience in an early childhood setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations for the center.
• Maintain licensing, safety, CACFP, and Brightside compliance.
• Build, coach, onboard, and hold accountable a strong center team.
• Manage staffing, schedules, ratios, supplies, and expenses.
• Support quality teaching, curriculum implementation, and child outcomes.
• Build positive family relationships, support enrollment, and conduct pre-enrollment meetings.
• Address parent concerns and partner with teachers on solutions.
• Monitor center performance and adjust operations as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, welcoming learning environment.
• Escalate safety, facility, and regulatory concerns as needed.
• Communicate clear expectations and updates to staff.
• Follow all company policies and business practices.

What We’re Looking For

• PA Director Credential
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education; or a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with at least 18 ECE credits; or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least 30 ECE credits
• Leadership experience in an early childhood education setting
• Strong organization, communication, budgeting, and problem-solving skills
• A confident, dependable, people-focused leadership style
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Ability to read/write English and use basic Microsoft Office tools
• Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply

The $5,000 sign-on bonus is paid in three installments at 90 days, 6 months, and 1 year. Candidates must start within 30 days of accepting the offer. Rehires are not eligible. Minimum education for bonus eligibility is an associate degree in ECE or Elementary Education with 18 ECE credits and commitment to obtain a Director Credential.
