Job summary

Magical Beginnings Learning Centers seeks a dynamic leader to oversee a new Pembroke center’s operations, ensuring MA EEC compliance and quality care for children. You will coordinate licensing readiness, staff development, and enrollment growth while upholding the organization’s mission.

The role emphasizes leading a qualified team, maintaining regulatory standards, and delivering high-quality early childhood education in a community-focused setting.

Qualifications

  • Massachusetts EEC Director II certification is required.
  • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related degree with experience or training.
  • 2–4 years in a leadership role in daycare/preschool/early childhood setting.
  • Strong knowledge of EEC compliance, licensing, and childcare regulations.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification, ongoing education, and updated State Registry.
  • Experience with enrollment management and staff leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all center operations, ensuring MA EEC regulations and licensing compliance.
  • Ensure and implement all child-to-teacher ratios and safety/education regulations.
  • Maintain licensure readiness and communicate with licensors.
  • Manage staff files, scheduling, and monthly drills.
  • Schedule staff within payroll guidelines while meeting licensure standards.
  • Supervise and coach teaching staff to build a cohesive team as the center opens.
  • Guide staffing and classroom ratios during ramp-up of a new center.
  • Implement a developmental, multicultural curriculum across classrooms.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all center operations, ensuring full compliance with Massachusetts EEC regulations and licensing requirements, and alignment with Magical Beginnings’ mission, goals, and handbooks
  • Ensure and implement all child-to-teacher state-mandated ratio compliances and safety/education regulations
  • Maintain mastery of licensure regulations — prepare the school for its licensing visits, communicate with licensors, and adapt to regulatory changes
  • Ensure staff and child files remain compliant at all times, and that monthly fire drills are completed
  • Schedule school staff within budgeted payroll guidelines while meeting licensure and company quality standards
  • Supervise, coach, and support teaching staff, building a cohesive, cooperative team culture as the school opens
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and classroom ratios during the critical ramp-up period of a new center
  • Ensure implementation of a developmental, multicultural curriculum that supports skill progression and social development across all classrooms
  • Guide staff in assessing and recording child growth and observations in Teacher Strategies Gold
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings, one-on-one check-ins with staff, and parent meetings as needed
  • Partner with families to build strong communication and drive enrollment as the center establishes itself in the community
