Center-Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Join to apply for the Center-Based Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) role at Life Skills Autism Academy.

Life Skills Autism Academy is seeking exceptional behavior technicians! Candidates must hold and maintain current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) or be willing to complete a 40-hour training course and sit for the RBT competency exam within 45 days of employment. RBTs support children on the Autism Spectrum by providing ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Therapy in a 1:1 setting under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. This therapy aims to develop critical skills such as language, communication, social, and school readiness behaviors.

Pay Range: $17 - $23

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct client care in 1:1 and group settings, utilizing intensive teaching and natural environment training.
  • Follow behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as outlined in the client's treatment plan.
  • Collect, record, and analyze data on observable client behaviors.
  • Assist with parent and caregiver training aligned with the client's treatment protocols.
  • Complete documentation accurately and timely.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding client progress.
  • Use safe procedures when working with clients, reporting incidents and safety concerns appropriately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Assist BCBA/BC in preparing client materials, assessments, and skill acquisition activities.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Willingness to participate in background checks if offered employment.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Reliable transportation; proof of driver's license and insurance may be required.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification and a TB test if not current.
  • Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 50 lbs and moving quickly if necessary.
  • Dependability in attending scheduled appointments.
  • Professional presentation and conduct.
  • Patience and emotional control, even in challenging situations.
  • Positive attitude and motivation to help children acquire new skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Proficiency with technology for data recording and digital applications.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Cultural competency and flexibility.
Additional Qualifications (Preferred):
  • Experience as a behavioral technician, working with children with autism or other disabilities, teachers' aide, tutor, CNA, caregiver, or home health aide.
