Illinois Action for Children in Matteson, IL is seeking a Center Based Child Care Specialist to strengthen partner sites, manage contracts, and drive quality improvements toward ExceleRate Gold or national accreditation.
You will build collaboration with IAFC and centers, implement practice systems, and oversee site-level quality actions while ensuring contractual compliance.

The Center Based Child Care Specialist leads IAFC’s work to build the capacity and support the quality improvement of the agency’s early childhood partner sites. These sites are private childcare centers that IAFC supports through staffing, coaching and quality improvement resources. This individual is responsible for managing contracts for each partner center while enforcing the contracts terms and resolving non-compliances. The Center Based Child Care Specialist builds collaboration partnerships between IAFC and each assigned partner sites, develops practice systems that align sites operation to IAFC’s vision for quality, develops and implements quality action plans for each partner site to achieve ExceleRate Gold and or national accreditation and improve whole site quality.
The required skills for this position include strong communication abilities, which are essential for interacting with children, parents, and colleagues. Organizational skills are vital for planning and executing educational activities effectively. Patience and empathy are crucial in understanding and addressing the diverse needs of children. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of child development, enhance the specialist's ability to create tailored learning experiences. Additionally, teamwork skills foster collaboration with other educators, ensuring a unified approach to child care and education.
