Job summary

Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 in Manheim, PA is hiring a Full-time Personal Care Assistant/1:1 Paraeducator to support instructional, behavioral and personal care needs for a student under the teacher’s direction. The schedule is 6.50 hours per day, Monday–Friday, 185 days per year.

The candidate must have a High School Diploma or GED and either the PA Paraeducator Credential of Competency Certificate (or willingness to complete the FREE online program within 6 months of hire date), or 48 postsecondary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• PA Paraeducator Credential or willingness to complete the free online program within 6 months.
• Alternatively 48 postsecondary credits or an associate degree or higher.
• Must complete 20 hours of staff development each school year with prorated requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional, behavioral and personal care support to the student.
• Work under the direction of the classroom teacher and program supervisor.
• Support is 1:1 and aligned with the student’s IEP; assignment could terminate by need.
• Assistance with lifting and crisis prevention training as required.
