Job summary

Lancaster-Lebanon IU13 is seeking a Personal Care Assistant / 1:1 Paraeducator for a school-age student. The role provides instructional, behavioral and personal care support under the classroom teacher and program supervisor.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, and credentials or coursework per PDE guidelines. Duties include following instructions, data entry basics and participating in required staff development.

Qualifications

• Education required: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency.
• Credential options: PDE Credential, 2 years postsecondary (48 credits), an associate degree or higher, or an approved assessment within 6 months.
• Verbal communication skills and ability to follow directions.
• Basic computer skills: data entry, internet/email, word processing and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional, behavioral and personal care support as outlined in the student’s IEP.
• Follow teacher directions and operate under supervision of program supervisor.
• Attend staff development activities (20 hours per school year).
• Assist with lifting and safety procedures as needed, including crisis interventions when trained.
