AmeriCorps VISTA is seeking a dedicated member to help build a comprehensive Veterans of Richland research program in Greenville, SC. You will help develop research methods, a historical database, GIS mappings, and public access tools while coordinating with volunteers and partners in a community-focused effort.

The role involves fieldwork, meetings, training, and outreach to share findings and sustain the project through service and documentation. Program runs 2026–2027 with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Associate degree + 2 years of work experience.
• Experience in archival or historical research preferred.
• Familiarity with data management and GIS tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and expand the Veterans of Richland research program.
• Develop the systems behind this effort—including research methods and standards, a historical database, GIS and mapping connections, metadata and evidence documentation, digital collections and histories.
• Create processes, documentation, and training for volunteers, researchers, partners, and future VISTAs.
