Job summary

The National Cemetery Administration is seeking a Cemetery Caretaker Leader to coordinate, lead, and train cemetery caretaker personnel and equipment operators responsible for interment tasks and marker installation.

You will ensure necessary plans, tools, equipment and supplies are available, supervise work, report progress and maintain records while enforcing safety and housekeeping rules under the foreman’s instructions.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lead a crew of cemetery and grounds maintenance workers.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and safe operation of machinery.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, lead and train cemetery caretaker personnel and equipment operators in interment tasks and marker installation.
• Ensure plans, equipment, material, and tools are available and stock is obtained from supply locations.
• Provide oral and written progress reports, prepare production reports, and maintain records of work accomplished and time expended.
