Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a Cemetery Maintenance worker in Houston, TX to maintain the grounds, keep markers in good condition, and assist with interments and graveside ceremonies. You will operate hand tools, lawn equipment, and basic machinery while ensuring safety and efficiency in all tasks.

The role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in varying weather conditions, with timely completion of daily groundskeeping duties and maintenance tasks across cemetery

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent or relevant work experience.
• Minimum 6 months of relevant experience.
• Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment (shovel, rake, weed trimmer, etc.).
• Ability to lift up to 150 lbs with assistance, and push/pull up to 300 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cemetery grounds, including mowing, trimming, and care of walkways and markers.
• Assist with setup for graveside ceremonies and interments as needed.
• Maintain and repair cemetery features and equipment.
• Operate basic equipment and perform minor repairs; observe safety regulations.
