Job summary

Service Corporation International in Midland, TX is seeking an entry-level Cemetery Groundskeeper to maintain the grounds of our cemetery, mausoleum or funeral home locations. You will perform routine landscaping and upkeep to preserve the property’s appearance and assist with basic operational tasks.

Responsibilities include mowing, snow removal, trimming shrubs, operating lawn equipment, and ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 6 months landscaping experience.
Ability to operate lawn equipment.

Responsibilities

Mows grass, plows snow, waters lawns, fertilizes and trims shrubs; inspects work areas.
Operates lawn and grounds equipment including mowers, snow blowers, trimmers and leaf blowers.
Removes debris and trash from grounds; may handle vases and wilted flowers.
Participates on teams for openings/closings for interments, entombments and inurnments.
Assists in determining grave location and layout with guidance, complies with procedures.
May perform minor repairs to cemetery or equipment.
May assist in cremations under supervision and maintain related inventory.
May assist in moving and installing burial vaults.
Follows safety rules and OSHA guidelines.
