Job summary

Security National Funeral Homes and Cemeteries is seeking a Landscaper/Groundskeeper to maintain cemetery grounds, operate equipment, and ensure a safe, well‑presented exterior. The role blends independent work with teamwork and requires attention to safety and standards.

The position emphasizes reliability, physical stamina, and the ability to follow directions while performing lawn care, sprinkler work, grave site maintenance, and light construction tasks.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a related field preferred.
• Valid California Driver License required.
• Knowledge of maintenance equipment such as mowers, aerators, trimmers, etc.
• Knowledge of sprinkler systems design and installation.
• Safety precautions associated with equipment operations.
• Ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisors and the public.

Responsibilities

• Meet performance standards established with the employee's manager and follow job metrics.
• Perform general maintenance and repairs to Cemetery Grounds.
• Operate powered equipment such as mowers, trimmers, edgers, sod cutters, chain saws, etc.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, clippers, saws, etc.
• May install and maintain sprinkler systems and perform landscape construction.
• May assist in burials at grave sites and maintain grave sites.
