Job summary

Security National Funeral Homes and Cemeteries seeks a Grounds Crew Laborer to maintain cemetery grounds and operate related equipment. The role includes mowing, edging, sprinkler work, and assisting with burials as needed.

Applicants should be prepared for winter maintenance tasks and follow safety procedures. General labor experience in groundskeeping is preferred; a valid Utah driver license is required to operate vehicles and equipment on-site.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in groundskeeping, maintenance, or a related field preferred.
• Valid Utah Driver License required.
• Knowledge of maintenance equipment such as mowers, aerators, trimmers, etc.
• Knowledge of sprinkler systems design and installation.
• Safety precautions associated with equipment operations.
• Interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to develop effective working relationships with supervisors and the public.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs to cemetery grounds.
• Operate powered equipment such as mowers, trimmers, edgers, sod cutters, chain saws, etc.
• Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, clippers, saws, etc.
• May install and maintain sprinkler systems, perform landscape construction and maintenance.
• May assist in burials at grave sites.
• Remove snow from walks, driveways, and park lots; spread salt as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
