Job summary

Marathon Staffing is seeking a Cemetery Grounds Keeper to maintain a clean, safe, and well-kept facility in Pharr, TX. This role focuses on outdoor grounds maintenance and timely handling of burials as needed.

Expect 40 hours per week (8:00 AM–5:00 PM) with some overtime. Pay starts at $11.00 per hour with potential increases upon full-time hire, and agency benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and life insurance are available immediately.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Pre-employment drug test and background check required (THC testing not included).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record to operate equipment/vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, sanitized facility and stocked supplies.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, wax, vacuum, dust and polish interior surfaces.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms and kitchens.
• Collect and dispose of trash and debris.
• Replace burned-out light bulbs.
• Assist with openings/closings for burials as needed.
• Operate a mower, weed eater, and blower.
• Handle work orders related to grave and marker maintenance.
• Prepare burial areas and ensure cleanliness.
• Follow safety rules and Universal Precautions.
