Job summary

Service Corporation International in Dolton, IL is hiring for cemetery maintenance staff. The role involves grounds care, grave preparation, and setup for services at our Oakland Memory Lanes location.

You will operate basic tools and machinery under supervision and adhere to safety and environmental guidelines. Candidates should have at least 6 months of relevant experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent or relevant work experience.
• Minimum 6 months of relevant experience.
• Ability to operate hand-held tools and equipment including shovel, pick, rake, lawn mower, weed trimmer and leaf blower.
• Basic computer skills to enable retrieving and responding to email communications.

Responsibilities

• Cuts grass, maintains lawn, trims around trees, walkways and memorial markers.
• Erects tents and arranges chairs for graveside ceremony.
• Assists with setup for interments, entombments and inurnments.
• Maintains and repairs existing cemetery features and equipment.
• Observe safety rules and OSHA regulations.
