Job summary

Sci Corp is seeking a Cemetery Grounds Maintenance Associate to care for cemetery and funeral home grounds in Lubbock, TX. The role involves mowing, watering, trimming, and tending flower beds while adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines.

You will operate a range of equipment, assist with interment-related duties, and conduct minor repairs as needed. The position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 6 months of relevant grounds maintenance experience.
• Ability to operate hand-held tools such as shovels, rakes, and lawn equipment.
• Ability to use measuring devices (tape measure, yard-stick, etc.).
• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass, waters lawns, fertilizes and trims shrubs; maintains grounds appearance.
• Operates power equipment including mowers, snow blowers, weed eaters, and leaf blowers.
• Removes debris and trash; maintains flower beds and vases as needed.
• Participates in openings and closings for interments, entombments and inurnments.
• May perform minor repairs to cemetery or building systems and assist with cremation-related tasks.
• Ensures safety compliance with corporate, federal, state, and OSHA guidelines.
• Assists in moving and installing burial vaults as required.
