Serve Virginia's veterans and their families by ensuring they receive benefits, support, quality care, and recognition for their service and sacrifice. This position involves locating grave/cremation sites within designated garden sections using maps, pins, and measuring devices, then opening and closing each site. The individual must be capable of operating heavy cemetery equipment such as backhoes, tractors, dump trucks, and vault carts. Maintenance of grounds, including bushes, mulch beds, gravesites, and cemetery buildings, is required, along with familiarity with placing grave markers. Additional duties are assigned by the Cemetery Superintendent or Caretaker Manager related to cemetery operations.
Combination of education and experience that provides the necessary skills and abilities. A high school diploma or GED, or six months of cemetery experience, is required. A valid Virginia driver's license is also required.
