Job summary

Buzzi Unicem USA is seeking a processes-focused engineer or supervisor to lead process-flow studies across production systems at our cement facilities. The role involves coordinating with plant teams, analyzing shutdowns, and implementing improvements to maximize uptime and safety.

The position requires a BS in engineering, two years of cement operations familiarity if possible, strong computer skills, and willingness to travel to support multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or technical discipline.
• At least two years in operations in the cement preferred, but not required.
• Familiarity with operational aspects of Cement Industry.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build consensus and confidence.
• Self-starter and inquisitive by nature.
• Able to develop long-term solutions for repair and maintenance problems.
• Solid computer skills.
• Working knowledge of Environmental, Safety and Health, and company policies.
• Requires physical dexterity and strength to lift heavy objects and to move through close areas.
• Physical environment is in the plant - dusty, noisy and potentially hazardous.
• Requires travel, with some extended periods away from home facility to work with other facilities.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, supervise and participate in process flow studies for all production systems; plan, design, coordinate and schedule projects; train plant personnel.
• Collaborate with Night Plant Supervisors, Maintenance Planner and Automation Engineer to address process flow concerns and minimize downtime; develop flow analysis programs.
• Analyze equipment shutdowns and recommend operational and control changes; follow up on implementations.
• Ensure adherence to plant conduct, health and safety rules; administer disciplinary actions when needed.
• Be on-call for plant needs and cover Production Manager when necessary.
• Attend weekly safety meetings; inspect for unsafe conditions and help reduce injuries.
• Supervise contractors on production projects; maintain cost records for projects.
• Ensure work orders for operations and safety inspections are provided to Maintenance planner.
