Job summary

Tehachapi Cement LLC in Tehachapi, CA is seeking qualified Laborers to perform a variety of general labor duties in the plant under supervision. Responsibilities include cleaning, material handling, digging, mixing concrete, and assisting control room operators.

The ideal candidate will join the union after a 90-day probation period and must follow all safety procedures. This is an on-site position offering competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform all technical aspects of the job using required tools and systems.
• Understand and apply safety procedures across the plant, including inspections and checklists.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
• Union membership required after a 90-day probation period.

Responsibilities

• Perform plant cleaning, shovel work, wheelbarrow work, scaling and jackhammer tasks.
• Unload incoming materials such as coal or bricks requiring manual handling.
• Pickup scrap and debris from plant grounds and facilities.
• Dig ditches and create excavations as needed.
• Mix and handle concrete and refractory materials.
• Work at elevations using appropriate safety equipment.
• Reline kilns by hauling, hoisting, and passing bricks as required.
• Sweep floors and perform general cleanup duties.
• Assist control room operators as directed.
• Load cement or other materials for shipping from the plant.
• Other duties as assigned by supervision.
