CalPortland is seeking a Laborer to perform general labor and clean-up in a plant or field, and unload railcars as directed, while championing safety and environmental compliance. The role supports daily operations with a variety of equipment and requires attention to safety protocols.

Responsibilities include operating heavy machinery, performing paint tasks, and assisting in general duties as needed. A high school diploma or GED and the ability to read, write, and communicate in English are

Compensation

$25.41 to $27.41 PLUS * Generous hourly 401(k) contributions * Shift Differentials * Sunday Premiums * Annual Boot Allowance

Education

High school diploma/GED

Requirements/Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in the English language
• Knowledge of hazards associated with areas of responsibility
• Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)
• Ability to walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and/or slippery ground)
• Physically able to climb on equipment
• Must be able to use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required
• Climb stairs and ladders as high as 400 feet in elevation
• Must be able to walk long distances, climb stockpiles, stoop, and crawl under and into enclosed spaces
• Ability to see and hear safety indicators and warnings and will have exposure to all levels of noise, requiring hearing protection
• Must work in all weather conditions: heat, cold, wet, dry and/or dusty conditions and near hot kiln process
• Physical requirements: sitting, standing, stooping and bending for long periods of time; work in various weather conditions; lift up to 70 lbs.
• Able to work efficiently, both independently and as part of a team
