Job summary

CalPortland is seeking a Laborer to perform general labor and clean-up in a plant or field, unloading railcars as directed, while championing safe work and environmental compliance.

Must read/write in English, pass pre-employment screening, and be able to lift up to 70 lbs and work in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• Sitting, standing, stooping and bending up to 8 hours.
• Walk on uneven/slippery surfaces; climb stairs and ladders (up to 400 ft).
• Lift up to 70 lbs and use PPE as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform clean-up duties in all areas of the facility.
• Operate equipment including the super sucker, street sweeper, track mobile, front-end loader, forklift, bobcat, water truck, dump trucks and other related equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation

$25.41 to $27.41 PLUS

Education

Requirements/Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in the English language
• Knowledge of hazards associated with areas of responsibility
• Ability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)
• Ability to walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and/or slippery ground)
• Physically able to climb on equipment
• Must be able to use proper Personal Protective Equipment as required
• Climb stairs and ladders as high as 400 feet in elevation
• Must be able to walk long distances, climb stockpiles, stoop, and crawl under and into enclosed spaces
• Ability to see and hear safety indicators and warnings and will have exposure to all levels of noise, requiring hearing protection
• Must work in all weather conditions: heat, cold, wet, dry and/or dusty conditions and near hot kiln process
• Physical requirements: sitting, standing, stooping and bending for long periods of time; work in various weather conditions; lift up to 70 lbs.
• Able to work efficiently, both independently and as part of a team
