Job summary

Titan Florida LLC has an immediate opening for a Control Room Operator in its Cement operation in the Miami, FL area. You will monitor the plant control system, adjust controls, and maintain kiln stability while complying with safety and environmental standards.

The role requires a technical certificate or related experience, strong teamwork, and the ability to work rotating shifts and overtime. Extensive coordination with mechanics and supervisors is expected.

Qualifications

• One year certificate from college or technical school, or related experience.
• Able to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Must know basic kiln and mill process.
• Computer literate and able to monitor computer controlled equipment.
• Must be able to make quick decisions under pressure and work rotating shifts.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.
• Knowledge and understanding of SOP procedures.
• Strong teamwork and good written, oral communication and deductive analysis.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe operating procedures to protect employees and equipment.
• Monitor production control system and respond with appropriate actions.
• Adjust manual controls or override automatic controls to bring equipment into recommended operating ranges.
• Maintain kiln at proper temperature and optimum stability.
• Record operation and maintenance actions in the logs.
• Communicate with mechanics, electricians and supervisors to coordinate production.
• Monitor quality along the process line and adjust as needed to maintain product quality.
• Control process equipment in plant including kilns and mills.
• Respond to alarms on the plant control system.
• Optimize production and minimize power and heat consumption.
• Maintain emission levels below limits and understand permit constraints.
• Operate equipment within air quality standards and permit limits.
