Job summary

NexTier Completion Solutions Inc. in Midland, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician to perform basic quality control testing of well stimulation and cementing fluid systems.

You will assist the Lab Supervisor, prepare and calibrate equipment, and help with pre-test tasks in a controlled laboratory environment. The role requires strong communication, safe work practices, and the ability to track chemical inventory, maintain logs, and contribute to lab data documentation and reporting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience working with chemicals.
• Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and general record keeping.
• Ability to understand and speak English at a working proficiency for safety and operations directions.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic quality control testing of well stimulation and cementing fluid systems and additives.
• Assist the Lab Supervisor and Sr. Lab Technician in additive selection and design of advanced stimulation and cementing fluids.
• Learn to prepare, operate, maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment in accordance with company standards.
• Assist in performing pre-test and pre-job tasks for analytical support to operations.
• Maintain clean, orderly and safe laboratory conditions.
• Assist in preparing documentation and reporting of laboratory data related to field testing of new technology.
• Attend periodic safety and operations improvement meetings and location quality improvement meetings.
• Track and record monthly chemical inventory.
• Maintain daily log-in book.
• Work safely and comply with all company and government mandated safe work practices and environmental regulations.
