Job summary

NexTier Completion Solutions is hiring for a Lab Technician role based in Texas. You will perform basic QC testing of well stimulation and cementing fluid systems, assist senior staff with additive design, and learn to operate and calibrate lab equipment in accordance with company standards.

Responsibilities include pre-test preparation, ensuring clean and safe lab conditions, documenting lab data from field tests, and tracking monthly chemical inventory.

Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented and strong communication (written and oral).
  • Proficient computer skills (MS, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and general record keeping.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Motivated; a "self-starter"; able to work independently.
  • Good multi-tasking skills and time management skills.
  • Communicates clearly and concisely to send and receive information.
  • Attends periodic safety and operations improvement meetings and location quality improvement meetings.
  • Tracks and records monthly chemical inventory.
  • Maintains daily log-in book.

Minimum Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1 year of experience working with chemicals

  • Proficient computer skills (MS, Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) and general record keeping.

  • Ability to understand and speak English at a level of proficiency allowing employee to issue, receive and respond to both safety and operations-related directions in English.


Preferred Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree

  • Ability to travel up to 25%


Working Conditions

Work is primarily in a climate-controlled area with a health hazard potential. May involve exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, noise, and hazardous working conditions (e.g., proximity to moving mechanical parts, high heat, chemicals, and confined spaces).The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone and other office equipment.
