TRISTAR, a Government-focused engineering services company, seeks a Cellular Engineer to join our team for cutting-edge R&D, development, and testing in wireless communications. You will contribute to cellular protocol implementations across 3G, LTE, and 5G, and perform software engineering tasks in C, C++, and Python.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a related engineering/science field with CS/communications concentration.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience in wireless or networked systems.
• Experience with cellular protocols (3G/LTE/5G) and related standards.
• Proficient in C, C++, and Python programming.
• Experience executing structured test activities in lab or field environments.
• Understanding of wireless protocol fundamentals, device behavior, and performance characteristics.
• Strong written and verbal communication, ability to document findings clearly.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, integration, testing, and evaluation of cellular/wireless capabilities for Government R&D and test activities.
• Develop and assess protocol implementations across 3G, LTE, and 5G environments.
• Perform software engineering tasks including design, coding, integration, debugging, and maintenance in C/C++/Python.
• Develop, execute, and refine test plans for lab, simulated, OTA, and field tests.
• Contribute to test automation to improve repeatability and efficiency of test events.
• Collaborate with Government and contractor teams across engineering, RF, modeling, and test infra.
