Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Cellular Engineer to support the Expeditionary Electronic Warfare Division at NSWC Crane. The role focuses on cellular/wireless capabilities across 3G, LTE, and 5G, with software engineering in C, C++, and Python.

The candidate will develop protocols, execute test plans, and contribute to test automation in lab, OTA, and field environments. Responsibilities include evaluating protocol behavior and QoS, performing unit/integration testing, data collection and briefing

Qualifications

• Proficiency in cellular protocol concepts and wireless communications.
• Experience with testing and validation in lab or field environments.
• Strong software development skills in C/C++ and Python.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, integration, testing, and evaluation of cellular and wireless capabilities.
• Develop and assess cellular protocol implementations across 3G, LTE, and 5G environments.
• Perform software engineering activities including design, coding, integration, debugging, and maintenance.
• Develop, execute, and refine test plans and protocols for lab, simulated, OTA, and field tests.
• Support test and evaluation activities: data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Evaluate protocol behavior, QoS, device performance, and tradeoffs across wireless systems.
• Support unit, integration, and system-level testing including regression and verification.
• Contribute to test automation to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Analyze data and prepare technical recommendations and briefing materials.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary government and contractor teams.
