Job summary

Tri Star Engineering, Inc. is seeking a skilled Cellular Engineer (JCREW) to join our team for government R&D in wireless systems. The role focuses on cellular protocols, software engineering, and rigorous testing across 3G, LTE, and 5G environments.

You will develop, test, and evaluate protocol implementations, contribute to test automation, and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in secure environments to deliver mission-critical results.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with cellular protocols and 3G, LTE, and 5G.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience in laboratory or field test activities.
• Ability to document findings clearly and communicate across teams.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, integration, testing and evaluation of cellular and wireless capabilities for Government R&D.
• Develop and assess cellular protocol implementations across 3G, LTE and 5G.
• Perform software engineering in C, C++, and Python including debugging and maintenance.
• Develop, execute, and refine test plans for lab, simulated, OTA and field tests.
• Support test and evaluation through data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Evaluate protocol behavior, QoS, device performance and tradeoffs across wireless systems.
• Support unit, integration and system testing including regression testing.
• Contribute to test automation to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Analyze data and provide technical recommendations to improve performance and reliability.
• Prepare technical reports, tests docs, and briefing materials for customers.
• Collaborate with Government and contractor teams across engineering, RF analysis, modeling and test infra.
• Support work in secure environments and travel as required.
