Job summary

Vertex Inc. seeks an Associate Director, Manufacturing Operations for Cell Therapy to lead a multi-shift manufacturing team in Boston, MA. You will ensure compliant production of cell therapy products and develop a high-performing manufacturing group.

You will partner across Vertex to optimize operations, drive digitization, coach leaders, and maintain a strong quality culture within GMP guidelines while delivering therapies to patients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a scientific, technical, or engineering discipline.
• Experience managing day-to-day drug product manufacturing site operations.
• Experience training and developing a manufacturing team in a cGMP environment.
• Experience supporting FDA/EMA inspections and other health authority audits.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliant execution of cell therapy manufacturing activities including DP manufacturing.
• Build and maintain inventory to support patient needs.
• Lead cross-functional stakeholders to translate strategy into execution.
• Ensure timely, safe, and compliant product delivery.
• Drive cost efficiency and capacity planning across shifts.
• Champion digital tools and data integrity in manufacturing.
• Coach and develop direct reports and emerging leaders.
