Job summary

Lonza Portsmouth is seeking a Biotechnologist of all experience levels for a dual focus on Cell Therapy and Mammalian Manufacturing, on day shift. The role spans cleanroom handling, aseptic processing, and large-scale bioreactor operations in a GMP environment.

You will work across cell therapy and mammalian manufacturing workflows, gaining skills in upstream and downstream processes, GMP documentation, and routine in-process testing.

Qualifications

• High attention to detail and reliability; eager to learn in a specialized life-science field.
• Bachelor’s or Associate in STEM preferred for intermediate/advanced roles.
• Willingness to work rotating 12-hour shifts (7 AM7 PM, Days) and weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Work in Grade B cleanrooms with sterile gowning.
• Perform aseptic processing inside laminar flow hoods with strict sterile technique.
• Receive, process, expand, and cryopreserve patient-derived primary cells.
• Operate mammalian cell culture bioreactors (2,000, 6,000, 20,000 L) and manage upstream/downstream processes.
• Set up, operate equipment, monitor production, and document GMP/GDP activities (CIP/SIP).
• Conduct in-process testing (pH, conductivity, metabolites).
