The University of Kansas Health System is hiring a Medical Laboratory Scientist for the Cell Processing Lab on days, full-time. The MLS will perform comprehensive laboratory testing, ensure accurate and timely results, and uphold quality standards across the lab.

Responsibilities include analyzing specimens, calibrating and maintaining instruments, mentoring staff, performing phlebotomy where needed, and participating in quality assurance activities.

Competenze

• BS in Biological/Physical/Chemical/Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology from an accredited institution.
• High School Graduate.
• MLS certification (ASCP/AMT or equivalent) or eligible within 6 months of hire.
• Meets CLIA requirements for high complexity testing.

Mansioni

• Analyzes patient, control and proficiency testing specimens and records results promptly.
• Calibrates, maintains, operates and troubleshoots instrumentation and documents accordingly.
• Mentors students, employees, residents and other health care providers.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection as applicable.
• Reviews and correlates results with patient condition and identifies abnormal/critical values.
• May float to other locations within the organization.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and ensures PPE usage.
