HCA Healthcare, Inc. at TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville seeks a Cell Processing Medical Technologist to perform processing, preparation and cryopreservation of cellular therapy products for hematopoietic support in high-dose chemotherapy patients.

The CPL Technologist will operate lab equipment, document results and provide patient care support during infusion, while upholding quality, safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in a cell processing laboratory or general laboratory setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology.
• Certification (ASCP or AMT) preferred.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with staff, patients and vendors.
• Good computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform and document tasks for processing, preparation and cryopreservation of cellular therapy products.
• Provide patient care or support related to infusion of cellular therapy products.
• Operate laboratory equipment independently and verify results.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with quality standards.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Cell Processing Laboratory (CPL) Technologist is responsible for performing and documenting all tasks and duties associated with the processing/preparation and cryopreservation of cellular therapy products used to provide hematopoietic support to patients undergoing high dose chemotherapy. S/he provides appropriate patient care or support related to the infusion of cellular therapy products. The CPL Technologist demonstrates an ability to independently, operate laboratory equipment, make subtle discriminations and accurately interpret, record and verify cellular therapy product results.

II.Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience (1 year) in a cell processing laboratory or a general laboratory setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology. Required.
• Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist (ASCP or AMT) certification, preferred
• Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with all staff, patients, patient families and vendors.
• Good computer skills.
