Job summary

University of South Carolina is seeking a Cellular & Molecular Research Tech in Columbia, SC. The role involves hands-on mammalian cell culture, PCR/qPCR, protein assays, immunostaining, and imaging, under supervision from the PI and Research Associate.

The candidate will prepare reagents, maintain records, and ensure laboratory safety and compliance while supporting ongoing experiments in the CAS Psychology department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology or related field plus at least 1 year of related laboratory research experience.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture, PCR/qPCR, Western blotting, ELISA, immunostaining, fluorescence or confocal microscopy, and basic image analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct established mammalian cell culture, molecular, biochemical, and microscopy procedures.
• Prepare reagents and samples; perform PCR/qPCR, protein assays, immunostaining and imaging assays.
• Maintain accurate records and organized data; maintain equipment, supplies and laboratory safety compliance.
