Job summary

RTX’s Pratt & Whitney site in Asheville, NC seeks a seasoned supervisor for the 3rd shift to lead daily production, drive safety, quality, and delivery against MRP demands.

You will apply Lean and continuous improvement methods, manage schedules, mentor team members, and report to operations leadership as you build a high-performing, cost-conscious production group.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of manufacturing/operations experience OR a Master’s degree with 2+ years of manufacturing/operations experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in an operations or manufacturing setting required.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to government contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direction to employees.
  • Lead employee engagement and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Perform daily supervisor responsibilities, project management, effective communication, and execution with support group members.
  • Establish work schedules and monthly delivery plans considering resource availability that align with customer needs and satisfy financial obligations.
  • Provide leadership and direction with an emphasis on team building through daily toolbox meetings, effective communications, and in developing an efficient team that is responsive to production requirements and changes.
  • Achieve target performance levels through disciplined execution of the Standard Production System (SPS) including tiered accountability, visual management systems, and Leader Standard Work.
  • Demonstrate focus on accountability to daily results, rapid root-cause identification, and corrective actions.
  • Drive development of a strong problem-solving culture through application of tools.
  • Champion sustained improvements in safety, quality, production, procurement, and cost reduction through the system’s elements.
  • Communicate to peers requirements at supporting processes to ensure smooth process flow.
  • Hold employees accountable while maintaining a good working relationship.
  • Drive world-class safety culture and respond to EH&S requirements promptly.
  • Control quality, productivity, and process flow to meet MRP requirements while ensuring customer happiness.
  • Shift is 3rd shift (weekday over-nights) with shift premium.

What You Will Do

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of manufacturing/operations experience OR a Master’s degree with 2+ years of manufacturing/operations experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in an operations or manufacturing setting required.
  • U.S. citizenship required due to government contracts.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
