Job summary

RTX seeks a Cell Leader to supervise aerospace manufacturing operations and drive production schedules on a second shift. The role requires SAP-based control, Lean manufacturing practices, and strong leadership of bargaining-unit staff.

The successful candidate will work with cross-functional teams to maintain daily production goals, ensure depot deliveries, and apply continuous improvement methods in a demanding factory environment.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance is required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant manufacturing/operations experience; advanced degree may reduce experience needs.
• Experience leading a team or managing a workforce in an aerospace environment.
• Ability to work extended hours in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.
• Location is on-site with regular factory-floor presence.

The Cell Leader (CL) is the primary supervisor and team executor within a production or depot manufacturing environment.The successful candidate will report to the Value Stream Leader (VSL) and be accountable for the daily execution and a member of a cross functional team which includes the Value Stream Leader, Production Support team (ME, PTE, IE, QE, PC) and Production engineering/test support team.The CL will be tasked to execute operational schedules, priorities, goals while collaborating with functional management to allow for continuous manufacturing of line-flow or end-item products.Additionally, the CL will have accountability for production, depot deliveries, and direct daily supervision of bargaining unit team members.

This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending significant amounts of time in and around factory areas.The candidate must be capable and willing to work extended hours (when required) in a fast-paced deadline driven environment. The ideal candidate will possess the demonstrated skills and experience necessary to perform in both manufacturing and technical leadership roles.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum of five (5) years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum three (3) years' experience.
• Experience with either manufacturing or operations.
• Experience leading a team or managerial experience.
• U.S. Citizen - The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Lean/Continuous Improvement experience (5S, standard work, takt analysis).
• Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of HPU, EAC, and performance metrics.

• Strong interpersonal and cross‑functional communication skills.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
