Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a Research Engineering/ Scientist Associate to support human cell culture and molecular biology work in the Savinov lab. You will perform routine mammalian cell culture, maintain records, and aid in lab operations and training of new members.

Responsibilities include ordering lab supplies, maintaining equipment, and contributing to SOP development and safety/compliance activities. Relevant education may be substituted by experience at RESA I–III level.

Qualifications

• ALL LEVELS: Experience with routine mammalian cell culture including thawing, feeding, splitting/passaging, cryopreservation, and maintenance of human cell lines.
• Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate records and follow established procedures.
• Ability to work independently and in a group; strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support and perform human cell culture and molecular biology experiments to discover protein fragments as regulators of cellular protein interactions.
• Maintain inventory and organize lab supplies; track equipment service and maintenance; support efficient workflows.
• Assist with development and implementation of SOPs; train new lab members; support safety and compliance tasks.
