Job summary

The Garner Lab at The University of Texas at Austin is seeking a reliable Lab Manager and Cell Culture Specialist to support a new interdisciplinary research lab in the Department of Molecular Biosciences. The role focuses on lab operations, ordering, and mammalian cell culture, with emphasis on documentation and compliance.

The successful candidate will contribute to SOP development, training, and ensuring safety procedures while supporting research activities and maintaining organized

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, biomedical sciences, bioengineering, or a related field.
• Master's degree in a related field, or bachelor's degree plus at least two years of relevant experience.
• PhD in a related field, or master's degree plus at least two years of highly relevant experience, or bachelor's degree plus at least four years of highly relevant experience.
• PhD in a related field plus at least two years of highly relevant experience, or master's degree plus at least four years of highly relevant experience, or bachelor's degree plus at least six years of highly relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory operations, ordering, inventory, and organization.
• Cell culture and research support, including routine mammalian cell culture and maintaining records.
• SOPs, training, documentation, and general laboratory support.
• Maintain careful records and follow established procedures; train new members and ensure safety and compliance.
