Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biology, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of relevant hands-on laboratory experience, preferably in biotech/pharma research.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique including thawing, passaging, counting, expansion, harvesting, and cryopreservation.
• Understanding of contamination prevention and good laboratory practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple workflows and work independently with guidance.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mammalian cell cultures: thawing, seeding, passaging, expansion, harvesting, counting, cryopreservation.
• Support isolation and culture of primary mammalian cells from biological samples.
• Monitor morphology, viability, confluency, growth, and culture health.
• Maintain cell banks and inventories with passage history and storage locations.
• Apply aseptic technique and contamination-control practices.
• Perform routine mycoplasma testing and address contamination concerns.
• Prepare cells, media, reagents, and materials for studies and assays.
• Maintain accurate experimental records and follow SOPs.
• Assist with troubleshooting, protocol optimization, and workflow improvements.
• Maintain organized, clean cell culture lab.
• Collaborate with scientists to coordinate culture activities with experiments.
