Job summary

AbbVie, located at the Worcester, MA Bioresearch Center, seeks a hands-on Senior Scientist to join the Cell Culture Process Development group within PDS&T Biologics. You will support process development and tech transfer for CHO cell culture, contributing to clinical manufacturing and commercialization of therapeutic proteins.

The role requires leading scientific initiatives to improve platform processes, collaborating across functions, and delivering robust data packages.

Qualifications

Proven ability to independently design experiments, troubleshoot technical issues, and deliver high-quality scientific output.
Strong understanding of cell biology with extensive hands-on experience with mammalian suspension cell culture.
Theoretical and practical knowledge to carry out the job functions.

Responsibilities

Develop and characterize productive CHO cell culture processes for cGMP biotherapeutic manufacturing.
Lead research to reduce cost of goods by improving platform processes and workflows.
Design, execute, and analyze cell culture experiments using DOE and multivariate analysis.
Collaborate with Analytical Development, Cell Line Development, Discovery, Manufacturing and Quality.
Ensure compliance with corporate standards and GMP.
