Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Lab Technician in Seattle to support cell culture-related activities, media and buffer preparation, and general lab operations. You will help maintain equipment, manage inventories, and assist scientists with experiments in a hands-on environment.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and efficiency, with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and cross-group collaboration in a GMP/biologics-like setting. This is a contract position based onsite.

Qualifications

• Foundational chemistry knowledge including pH, osmolarity, and solution calculations.
• Attention to detail with accurate observations and documentation.
• Experience cleaning and maintaining scientific or lab equipment.
• Familiarity with preparing cell culture media and buffers.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare media and buffers to support cell culture experiments under supervision.
• Support troubleshooting deviations in media preparations.
• Assist scientists with investigations related to media and buffer performance.
• Regularly inventory laboratory supplies and support chemical inventory management.
• Assist in ordering laboratory supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.
• Support initiatives to increase lab productivity and efficiency.
• Regularly clean and maintain the laboratory and equipment.
• Assist other groups with solution preparation and maintenance as time allows.
• Autoclave solutions and cell culture assemblies as needed for sterile operations.
• Perform other related laboratory tasks as assigned.
