Job summary

Volkert is seeking experienced Senior level and entry level CEI Inspectors for the Southeast Region in Florida. Responsibilities include making engineering computations, inspecting construction work, conducting field tests, and writing daily inspection reports under supervision.

Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma, two years in construction inspection (one year on bridge/roadway), and the ability to obtain FDOT certifications within a year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of experience in construction inspection, with at least one year in bridge or roadway construction.
• Engineer Intern with a Civil Engineering degree is preferred.
• Ability to earn specified qualifications and certifications within one year (FDOT certifications).
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

We are currently searching for experienced Senior level and entry level CEI Inspectors to support our Southeast Region located in the state of Florida.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.

What you’ll be doing:

• Making and checking engineering computations
• Inspecting construction work
• Conducting field tests
• Writes daily inspection reports, performs verification testing, and documents test results and observations
• Assists in all types of record keeping and field measurements, as needed
• Work is performed under the general supervision of the Project Administrator

What you need to have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) years of experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction
• An Engineer Intern with a Civil Engineering Degree
• The qualified candidate should possess or have the ability to earn following required qualifications and certifications within one year (qualifications/certifications are provided by Volkert)
• FDOT certifications
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
• Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
