Job summary

Volkert Inc. is seeking Senior and entry level CEI Inspectors for the Southeast Region in Florida. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of construction inspection experience, including at least 1 year on bridge/roadway projects.

FDOT certifications or the ability to obtain them within a year are preferred. A valid driver's license and pass of a pre-employment drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two (2) years of experience in construction inspection, with at least one year in bridge/roadway construction or an Engineer Intern with a Civil Engineering degree.
• FDOT certifications preferred or obtainable within one year.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and possess a valid driver's license and clean MVR.

• Conduct field tests and document results.
• Write daily inspection reports and verify testing observations.
• Assist with record keeping and field measurements under supervision.

We are currently searching for experienced Senior level and entry level CEI Inspectors to support our Southeast Region located in the state of Florida.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have, at minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.

What you'll be doing:

• Making and checking engineering computations
• Inspecting construction work
• Conducting field tests
• Writes daily inspection reports, performs verification testing, and documents test results and observations
• Assists in all types of record keeping and field measurements, as needed
• Work is performed under the general supervision of the Project Administrator

What you need to have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) years of experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction OR an Engineer Intern with a Civil Engineering Degree
• The qualified candidate should possess or have the ability to earn following required qualifications and certifications within one year (qualifications/certifications are provided by Volkert)
• FDOT certifications
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines
• Valid driver's license and a satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
