Job summary

Waggoner Engineering is seeking an experienced CE&I Level 2 Inspector – Transportation to support projects in the Birmingham or Huntsville, AL area. In this role you will independently inspect major construction activities and perform field surveying, construction layout, engineering computations, and field testing.

You will ensure compliance with quality, performance, specifications and codes while supporting delivery of transportation projects.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years CEI experience or a Civil Engineering degree with 1 year related experience.
• Valid driver's license and clean MVR.
• Ability to travel and stay overnight as needed.

Responsibilities

• Independently inspect major work activities and perform field surveying and construction layout.
• Perform specialized inspection and testing duties.
• Maintain accurate inspection records daily.
• Ensure conformance with quality, performance, specs and codes.
• Assist with training for new employees and ensure safe work areas.
