Job summary

GFT is seeking a CEI Inspector with FDOT experience in the Orlando, FL area. The role requires at least 2 years of CEI experience in roadway or bridge construction and performance of daily inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

The candidate will inspect, document, and test materials, generate pay estimates, and coordinate with contractors. Ability to lift 70 pounds and work nights/weekends is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years CEI inspection experience in roadway/bridge construction.
  • Safety-first mindset and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends; able to lift 70 pounds.
  • FDOT experience and CTQP certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and oversee CEI road and bridge construction to ensure compliance with plans and specs.
  • Prepare samples for laboratory testing and maintain daily logs.
  • Measure distances, verify levels, alignments, and elevations; monitor work activities.
  • Coordinate with contractors and other inspectors to ensure safety and quality.
  • Document inspection results using MS Office and Bluebeam.

OurCentralFlorida ConstructionTeamis looking for aCEIInspectorwithFDOTExperienceforourConstruction Management and Construction Engineering Inspection group in theOrlando,FL area. ThisPositionwill work in the Central Florida Area.

Whatyou'llbe challenged to do:

This is an excellent career opportunity for anexperienced candidatewith aminimum of2years'InspectionexperienceinCEI Roadway & Bridge Construction, transportation facilities, and/or infrastructure,with 1 year of which shall have been in bridge and or roadway constructionto join a collaborative team environment. This role inspects and overseesCEIroad & bridgeconstruction work to ensure that results,proceduresand materialscomply withplans and specifications. This role will serve as a dailyinspectorforall aspects ofroad& bridge constructionincluding construction observations, materialtestinganddocumenting work activity.

In this capacity, the successful candidate willbe responsible forthe following:

  • Measure distances to verify accuracy of dimensions ofroad and bridge construction.
  • Workingwithotherinspectorson a daily basis.
  • Verify levels, alignment, and elevation of installations.
  • Prepare samples of materials for laboratory testing.
  • Examineand approveworkmanship of finished installations for conformity toclientstandards.
  • Interpret plans,specifications,and discusswith the Contractordeviations from specified construction procedures to ensure compliance with regulations governing construction.
  • Record quantities of materials received or used during specified periods, develop pay estimates,and change orders.
  • Maintain daily logsof construction and inspection activities and compare progress reports.
  • Monitor several types of workactivities.
  • Have an understanding ofconstruction safety practices and work methods for compliance.
  • Manage documents using electronic platforms such asMicrosoft Office,Bluebeam,MAC, andPrC.
  • Able toWork Nights and Weekends.
  • Be able to lift 70 pounds.
Education | Experience:

  • CTQP Final Estimates Level I
  • CTQP Concrete Field Technician Level I
  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
  • CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level II(Willing to take within the first year)
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level I
  • CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level II(Willing to take within the first year)
  • CTQP Pile Driving Inspection(Willing to take within the first year)
  • CTQP Drilled Shaft Inspection Required for inspection of all drilled shafts including miscellaneous structures such as sign structures, lighting structures, and traffic signal structure foundations(Willing to take within the first year)
  • FDOT Intermediate MOT
  • IMSA TrafficSignal Technician LevelI(Willing to take within the first year)
  • IMSA Traffic SignalInspectorLevel I(Willing to take within the first year)
  • Nuclear Radiation Safety
  • Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors A-19 Recommended when the scope of the project includes concrete pavement, grinding concrete pavement, or concrete pavement slab replacement.

Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $26 - $28/hour.Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
