Job summary

DRMP is seeking a CEI Inspector in Tallahassee, FL. The role focuses on field surveying, construction layout, and critical inspections across roadway and bridge projects.

You will manage lower-level inspectors and document daily activities while coordinating with contractors and utility owners. Requirements include a high school diploma with DOT experience or an engineering degree with EI certification, plus a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 2+ years DOT roadway/bridge construction experience or engineering degree with EI certification.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history.
• Certifications may be obtained within six months of hire.
• Position requires 40 hours per week with possible overtime.

Responsibilities

• Daily documentation of contractor's work efforts.
• Project coordination with field personnel and utility owners.
• Preparation and documentation of project field books.
• Density log book preparation and documentation.
• Material sampling and testing.
• Assist with Final Estimate package preparation.
• Measure distances to verify construction dimensions.
• Verify levels, alignment, and elevations of activity.
• Observe work to ensure procedures and materials meet specs.
• Prepare material samples for laboratory testing.
• Examine workmanship for conformance to standards.
• Record quantities of materials received or used.
• Maintain a daily log of construction and inspection activities.
• Support Roadway, Bridge, Segmental, Survey, and Environmental projects.

Education

High school diploma with DOT experience

Engineering/Engineering Technology degree with EI certification
