Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Atlanta, GA seeks a Senior CEI Inspector to read contract plans, specifications, and shop drawings while observing construction activities including trench work, pipe placement, backfill, pile driving, and concrete pours. You will perform density and asphalt tests and verify material certifications to support project quality.

• High school diploma (or equivalent) with eight years related experience; or an Associate Degree with five years related experience.
• Good oral communication skills and ability to organize information.
• Must be physically fit to perform manual labor and carry up to 60 lbs.

• Observe construction activities (trench excavation, pipe placement, backfill, pile driving, structure placement, reinforcement, concrete pours, signaling and lighting).
• Perform density and asphalt tests and verify material certifications.
• Log and report materials and work; assist in directing daily activities of less experienced staff.

Job Description Overview

We are seeking a Senior CEI Inspector to join our team in Atlanta, GA. Your role reads contract plans, specifications, shop drawings, and regulatory agency manuals. Observes construction work such as trench excavation, pipe placement, backfill operations, pile driving, structure placement, steel reinforcement, concrete pouring, signalization, and lighting, etc. Performs density and asphalt tests; samples and verifies certification of materials. Reviews shop drawings within limited area of expertise; logs and reports materials and work. Assists in directing the daily activities of less experienced staff. Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

About you

High school diploma (or equivalent) plus eight years related experience OR an Associate Degree in a related technical field plus five years related experience is required. Good oral communications skills and ability to organize information. Math computation skills and understanding of contract plans and specifications. Must be physically fit to do manual labor and carry up to 60 lbs.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $28.00 to $30.00 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
