Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior CEI Inspector to join our Ft Lauderdale, FL team. The role involves reading plans, observing construction activities, and verifying materials through density and asphalt tests.

You will review drawings and assist in guiding less experienced staff on site. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with extensive related experience or an associate degree with significant related experience, plus FDOT experience and solid communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 12 years related experience or an Associate Degree with 10 years related experience.
• Must have FDOT experience and strong math, reading plans, and communication skills.
• Ability to organize information and perform manual labor; able to lift up to 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Reads contract plans, specifications, shop drawings, and manuals.
• Observes trenching, pipe placement, backfill, pile driving, and concrete work.
• Performs density and asphalt tests; samples materials for certification.
• Reviews shop drawings within area of expertise; logs and reports materials and work.
• Assists in directing daily activities of less experienced staff.

Overview

We are seeking a SeniorCEI Inspector to join our team in Ft Lauderdale, FL.

Your role

• Reads contract plans, specifications, shop drawings, and regulatory agency manuals.
• Observes construction work such as trench excavation, pipe placement, backfill operations, pile driving, structure placement, steel reinforcement, concrete pouring, signalization, and lighting, etc.
• Performs density and asphalt tests; samples and verifies certification of materials.
• Reviews shop drawings within limited area of expertise; logs and reports materials and work.
• Assists in directing the daily activities of less experienced staff.
• Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary

About you

• High school diploma (or equivalent) plus twelve years related experience OR an Associate Degree in a related technical field plus ten years related experience is required.
• Good oral communications skills and ability to organize information. Math computation skills and understanding of contract plans and specifications. Must be physically fit to do manual labor and carry up to 60 lbs.
• FDOT experience required.

Additional information

Expected compensation range is between $38.00 to $42.00 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
