Job summary

Atlas is hiring CEI Construction Inspectors in Columbia, SC to join our Construction Inspection team. The role encompasses highly technical inspection/testing across concrete, foundations, soils, earthwork and roadway projects for SCDOT, reporting to the Resident Construction Engineer as needed.

Requirements include a Civil Engineering degree with inspection experience or a strong combination of education and two years of bridge/roadway exposure.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret plans, specs and inspection procedures.
• Knowledge of highway construction, inspection procedures and materials testing.
• Ability to take detailed notes and prepare reports.
• Experience on bridge or roadway projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor contractor work for plan/spec compliance and testing procedures.
• Record daily construction activities and progress details.
• Verify estimates reflect quantities installed and advise on payments.
• Maintain project documentation and inspection records.
• Communicate findings and status updates to stakeholders.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
