Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking an RN for the CDU on a part-time, third-shift schedule (1x12). The Clinical Decision Unit provides telemetry-level observation to determine admission needs, with emphasis on comfort, timely diagnostics, and safe discharge planning.

This role requires current Kentucky RN licensure, a nursing degree (BSN or ADN), BLS certification, and specialty training as required by the department (ACLS/PALS/NRP, dysrhythmia).

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Kentucky.
• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.
• Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP and dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment.

The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) provides telemetry level observation care for selected emergency department patients to determine whether inpatient admission is required. Patients in the CDU typically need extended monitoring, testing, and treatment. The CDU focuses on patient comfort, efficient diagnostic clarification, and timely decisions regarding safe discharge or hospital admission.
