Job summary

Neighborhood House Association seeks a CDP Teacher to support children from 6 weeks to 1st grade, developing cognitive and language skills and partnering with caregivers. You will ensure compliance with state/local codes, provide a safe learning environment, and collaborate with staff under the CDP Director and Assistant Director.

The role requires understanding of early childhood theories, strong communication and organizational skills, and experience with culturally diverse populations.

Qualifications

• The candidate has a California preschool teacher credential permit or an AA degree with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education and required core units.
• Minimum one year of experience as a Child Development Center Teacher or equivalent.
• For ECE teachers, at least 3 core units in Infant and Toddler are required.
• Must be computer literate and compliant with child care licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develops weekly lesson plans for Toddler children.
• Interacts and socializes with children; provides a safe, nurturing environment.
• Completes daily health checks and ensures safety through supervision.
• Maintains documentation like anecdotal notes and progress records.
• Conducts home visits and parent conferences; inputs data into PROMIS.
