$25,000 Hiring Incentives for SOCIAL WORK/COUNSELORS:

Payout will be as follows:

  • $5,000 after successful completion of the CDOC Training Academy
  • $5,000 after 4 months of service
  • $5,000 after 8 months of service
  • $10,000 after 12 months of service

**Candidates must be hired and start employment before June 30, 2025, to qualify for the incentive.

Job Description:

This position provides substance use disorder services to a specific offender population, including behavioral health assessments, therapy, clinical management of offenders with mental health and substance issues.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing behavioral health services, evaluations, assessments, and interventions.
  • Serving as a consultant for assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Providing clinical direction to staff and ensuring continuity of care.
  • Providing crisis intervention and informing offenders about substance use treatment.
  • Monitoring treatment and documentation compliance.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current, valid Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) credential issued by the Colorado State Board of Addiction Counselor Examiners.
  • One (1) year of relevant experience with the substance use, mental health, or sex offender population.
Substitutions:
  • License from DORA as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (CSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Psychologist, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT).
  • Certification as a Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) or Addiction Counselor Candidate (ADDC) can substitute for LAC.
Additional Requirements:

Applicants must have complete work experience listed in the application, meet all minimum qualifications, and maintain licensure. Transcripts and relevant documentation should be uploaded with the application.

Competencies and Preferred Qualifications:
  • Valid Colorado license as a Licensed Addiction Counselor.
  • Knowledge of Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health treatment standards.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in mental health treatment, discharge planning, and working with incarcerated populations.

  • Willing to work various shifts and travel as needed.
  • TB screening required.
