Job summary

FedEx Logistics is seeking a yard switcher/handler responsible for moving trailers to and from unload/load doors and throughout the yard. Duties include hitching, docking, and repositioning trailers with attention to safety and efficiency.

You will communicate with management to coordinate movements, document actions, and perform basic inspections and maintenance checks on equipment. This role requires physical work and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CDL Class A and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
• Strong communication and teamwork in a fast-paced yard environment.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yards and doors as described; perform trailer switches.
• Coordinate trailer movements with management/central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Adhere to yard safety processes and perform other duties as assigned.
